About Me

The Empowered Body Co

Hi, I’m Kate.

I’m a mum of four who somehow turned a lifelong obsession with sport, hormones, the human body and health education into a career. Or several.

  • Former midwife.

  • Health & PE teacher.

  • Sexual health and puberty educator.

  • Certified nutritionist.

  • Almost-qualified personal trainer.

  • Postgraduate neuroscience student.

Yes, I really do love bodies that much.

On paper it looks like a lot of different jobs.
In reality? It’s been one very consistent theme: helping people understand how their bodies actually work.

I’ve worked in classrooms, clinics, community halls and sporting clubs. I’ve had conversations about birth, puberty, periods, strength training, food, confidence and everything in between.

And across all of it, I kept noticing the same thing.

  • Most of us were given rules about our bodies, not understanding.

  • We were told what to eat.

  • How to train.

  • When to “calm down.”

  • When to push harder.

  • But rarely why.

And once you understand the why? Everything shifts.

At home, I’m raising four small humans who are learning the language of their bodies in real time. So this work isn’t theoretical for me. It’s a lived daily occurrence that honestly took some unlearning from me, before I focused on relearning through a lens of empowerment and understanding.

The Empowered Body Co grew from that intersection of lived experience, education and an admittedly nerd-level fascination with hormones.

I believe bodies are powerful.
I believe education changes everything.

And I believe understanding your body should feel empowering, not intimidating.

If you’re here, chances are you’re curious too.

You’re in good company.

My Philosophy

Yoga by Ocean

Bodies don’t need fixing.
They need understanding.

We replace rules with education.
Shame with clarity.
And confusion with curiosity.

Because when you understand your body, you stop shrinking and start living.

For too long, health education has been built around control.

Eat this | Don’t eat that | Push harder | Calm down | Try again | Be less.

But bodies aren’t problems to solve. They’re intelligent systems that respond to hormones, environment, stress, movement, rest and nourishment. When we understand what’s happening inside the body, whether that’s puberty, menstrual cycles, perimenopause, strength adaptations or nervous system shifts, everything changes.

Energy fluctuations stop feeling confusing and overwhelming
Mood shifts stop feeling dramatic and terrifying
Rest stops feeling lazy and starts feeling empowering
Strength stops being about aesthetics and starts being about playing with your kids

Body literacy means learning the language of your body.

It means giving young people real explanations instead of awkward metaphors.
It means helping parents guide conversations with confidence.
It means supporting women to train and fuel in alignment with their physiology.

At The Empowered Body Co, curiosity is encouraged.
Science is respected and shame is not invited and understanding builds confidence.

And confident people live differently.
